BABES – Addiction prevention program for children
The addiction of one individual has an adverse impact on all family members including children. Far too many kids grow up only to repeat the addictive patterns of their parents. BABES is a unique program designed for children living in families where addiction is present. It has been hugely successful in breaking the cycle of future substance abuse through early intervention and proven program strategies that resonate with vulnerable children.

Serenity Renewal’s Sister Louise receives the Order of Ottawa
Sister Louise Dunn, co-founder of Serenity Renewal for Families in south Ottawa, will be invested into the Order of Ottawa on Nov. 17. At 83, she continues to work as an addictions counsellor, providing counselling and support to people working toward a journey of recovery as well as their families.

This year, she met with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, was mentioned in the House of Commons, and honoured with the Order of Ottawa and at Recovery Day, highlighting the impact Sister Louise and Serenity Renewal have had and continue to have in our community.
