Serenity Renewal for Families is a heart centred non-profit agency which provides services to those affected by addiction, including children, teens, and adults. We provide family programs, short term therapy, workshops and groups for family and friends of those affected by addiction.
We are seeking a family program coordinator to oversee the Family program, which includes the successful planning and execution of both counselling and family education programs.
Serenity Renewal for Families offers a variety of unique programs for children, youth, and parents to help them cope with issues arising from substance misuse and develop emotional wellbeing in a safe and supportive environment. Our evidence-based programs help facilitate growth and communication individually and within the family unit.

Job Description – Family and Youth Program Coordinator
» Oversee the Family program, which includes the successful planning and execution of both counselling and family education programs.
» Work collaboratively with the SRF team including our Manager of Client Services, Counsellor liaison and Volunteer and Data Coordinator
» Liaise with families, conduct intake assessments, and provide counselling both in person and online
» Co-facilitate family, youth and teen programs
» Contribute to increasing the visibility and reach of our program
» Build connections with other agencies
» Communicate via our electronic platform JANE
» Report to the Director of Counselling
» Must be able to work on Saturdays from x-x on dates when family programming is being offered both in person or on zoom

Qualifications
The successful candidate must be:
a member of one of the following Colleges:
» The College of Nurses of Ontario
» The Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers
» The College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario
» Have a minimum of three years of experience in a counselling setting, with specific experience working with parents (caregivers), children, youth and           teens affected by addictions

Language:
English; Bilingualism an asset

Education:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Social Work or Occupational therapy

As covid permits, you will have access to private office space, meeting rooms, reception and scheduling services and general office facilities.
Services are presently being offered virtually during covid, with the forecast (not guaranteed) of returning to the office at 2255 St. Laurent Blvd, in the Fall

Conditions of Employment
All Counselling positions within SRF are subject to background and criminal records (for which a pardon has not been granted).

Compensation
Full time staff position, 30 hours per week, schedule includes Saturdays when certain programs operating

COVID-19 considerations:
Serenity Renewal for Families has been offering services virtually during COVID-19. We are currently transitioning to offering some of our services in office while following Ottawa Public Health directives to ensure safety of staff and clientele.
