A Milestone Celebration: City of Ottawa Proclaims Serenity Renewal for Families Day
We are thrilled to share that the City of Ottawa has officially proclaimed November 23 as Serenity Renewal for Families Day. This special honour was presented by Councillor Rawlson King to mark our 42nd anniversary, recognizing over four decades of compassionate service in the capital.

It was a heartwarming celebration shared by the entire SRF community; we were joined by our dedicated staff, volunteers, and generous donors, whose support makes our work possible.
As our Executive Director, Neil Leslie, highlighted during the event, SRF continues to walk alongside approximately 2,000 people each year. We remain deeply committed to serving both individuals living with substance-use challenges and the families who support them. The day also served as a launchpad for our new Rebound Choices initiative, a partnership with the Catholic School Board designed to empower youth earlier in their decision-making years.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. Together, we continue to build a community grounded in hope and respect for every recovery journey.
