Helping Build Happier Healthier Lives

The Adult Child

When children who grow up in a dependent environment become adults, they often experience feelings of inadequacy, isolation and loneliness. They sometimes fear abandonment and have difficulty with relationships. They walk through life with varying degrees of tension, anxiety and depression and may become addicted themselves. Often they will marry an alcoholic or another type of compulsive person such as a workaholic or a gambler.

Serenity Renewal for Families provides a supportive, safe environment where people are able to focus on painful issues and relationships. The welcoming and peaceful atmosphere allows all program participants to learn and grow at their own pace.

The goal is to develop healthier behaviour patterns within the family system and to prevent repetition of destructive patterns and break the cycle of addiction.

People coming through our doors will experience respect and acceptance, for some, the first time in their lives. They too will soon believe that change is possible.
