| In homes that are not affected by the disease of alcoholism or other chemical addictions, usually the focus and the attention of the family is centred on children. These children grow up knowing that they are loved. However, in addicted families, the focus is centred on the problem drinker or user. Children from such homes often grow up without experiencing the love and attention that they want and need.
Our clients are of all ages and backgrounds: from children five years of age to seniors; those preparing for and returning from treatment programs; and those in various stages of recovery. Many belong to other support groups or Twelve Step programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon, Adult Children of Alcoholics, Overeaters Anonymous, Gamblers Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. |
